What is the event?

The Global School Swimming Series is a groundbreaking new international competition built to inspire the next generation of school swimmers which has been built through the partnership between TEEMS Global and AP Race. This will be a fast-paced, high-energy format unlike anything seen before in school swimming.

What are the Qualifying events?

This will be an open competition for swimmers to race against their domestic peers in a fast paced two day competition. There will be five qualifying rounds taking place around the globe in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. These will be open to all swimmers who meet the qualifying criteria with the results from this competition determining who secures their seat on the plane to London for the Grand Final.

What is the Grand Final?

From each qualifying round, a team will be selected and you will travel to London to compete in the Grand Final at the iconic London Aquatics Centre, home of the London 2012 Olympics and the world leading competition that is the AP Race London International. The Grand Final will include a multi-day experience prior to the event that includes exciting Masterclasses led by international senior swimmers as well as opportunities to take in the iconic city of London.

How do I know if I am eligible to take part in the series?

This competition is for school swimmers aged 10-18 years old, with age groups based on the age as of 31st July 2027. There will be three competition age bands, which are 11/u, 12-13 and 14/over.

What is the process to qualify for the Grand Final?

Must race in a qualifying event to represent their country. Schools can enter more than one qualifying event but only represent the country their school is located.

 

Swimmers must meet the criteria in the Grand Final athlete selection policy, as it applies to their age, event and whether it is an individual or relay event.

What events are being raced at the qualifying events?

  • 11/u age group: 50m on all strokes Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly (male and female) as well as 100 freestyle

  • 12-13 age group: 50 and 100m on all strokes, Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly (male and female)

  • 14/O age group: 50 and 100m on all strokes, Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly, 200 Freestyle (male and female)

What events are being added for the Grand Final?

There are a wide selection of relay events being added for the final, which will be detailed in the athlete selection policy

How can I become a team staff member for the Grand Final?
